Is it allowed in checked baggage?+

Yes. The Tag ID uses passive NFC/RFID technology, with no battery or active transmission, fully compliant with international aviation security regulations (IATA 753).

How is the tag scanned by airlines?+

If a bag is lost, Lost & Found staff scan the tag's NFC chip with their own reader. The unique ID number then lets them contact you directly, with no personal data ever stored on the chip itself.
